Up for availability is the old original advertising sign. Please see all photos for condition – condition is as shown. This is a John Deere advertising dealership sign panel. The tapered shape suggests it may have been part of a. Multi-panel dealership fascia sign, not just a simple hanging board. Some Deere dealers had three panel triangular projecting signs in the 1940s. It is believed this is one panel from a three panel sign set. Soon after that the “Moline-ILL” was dropped from signs and manufactured. With metal that was not as heavy grade. The sign is 45-1/4″ across at the top and 36-1/2″ at the bottom. It has a 1-1/8 top rolled edge. It is 21 high. Weighs 12.8 pounds. The geometry is classic wind-resistant hanging signage. The panel is wider at the top than the bottom creating a trapezoid. The shape reduces wind loading on projecting street signs. The shape design allows for flex slightly in the wind instead. Of acting like a rigid sail. On the rear is a large triangular. This reinforcement style is typical of structured. Signage panels meant to resist wind. The rolled over top edge was designed to slide over or hang. From a round rod or square bar frame. Graphics contain a leaping deere logo with serif lettering. The lettering and logo are embossed. There are two shallow scallop like indentations. Stamped into the lower flange. These are clearance stamps. Used in fabrication so the panel could sit into a steel frame. There is rust on top with bird excrement. This listing is minus the metal original frame. And any other sections of the sign. There is a mounting bracket on the upper left side with an. This not threaded because it was likely. For a pin or rod, not a bolt. This was to allow the sign to hang. From a crossbar or frame. The paint appears to be good and orignal. Please see photos for condition – condition is as shown.
