Lot 4 John Deere Storybooks for Little Folks Johnny Tractor Books MINT SIGNED! Set of four books, SIGNED BY THE ILLUSTRATOR, AND RETIRED JOHN DEERE STAFF ARTIST, ROY A. TWO from 1988, one from 1989, and one from 1991. Johnny Tractor and his pals, Corny Cornpicker finds a home, Family Reunion, and Centennial Surprise. These books are in absolutely MINT condition and have been stored in a controlled environment since having been acquired, probably in 1991. Roy A Bostrom was an award winning, well known local artist, wood carver, and illustrator. He was best known locally for his paintings of the life and community of Bishop Hill, Illinois. He was also known worldwide for his illustrations of a series of children’s story books published by John Deere which included, “Johnny Tractor and His Pals”, “Corny Cornpicker Finds a Home” and more recently “Family Reunion” and “Centennial Surprise”. He was an art director and commercial artist for Deere & Company until 1984 upon his retirement after 33 years of service. He continued his commercial art career from 1984 to 2007 at Roy A. Bostrom Design which he founded after his retirement from Deere. He was a graduate of Moline High School in 1942 and Bradley University, Bachelor of Fine Arts, in 1950.
