Original Antique Birdsell Wagon South Bend Indiana Farm Dealer Trade Wooden Sign. This was a dealer sign that was used at a store in South Bend, Indiana operated by Dan Davis & Ages Dighton. Hand painted sign is still in excellent condition. Paint is flaking off, mostly along bottom edge. There is also a bow in wood running full length of sign on the short edge. There are 2 mounting holes. 1 hole top of “R” in Birdsell and other hole is above “I” in Davis. Measures 6″ x 70″. This sign along with 2 others I have listed “South Bend Malleable Range” & “Stewart Ball Bearing Horse Clippers Chicago, Illinois” came from the same private collection. The gentleman that owned these 3 very rare pieces was a life long collector, was on historical society in South Bend, Indiana and retired museum curator in Chicago. This would make a great addition to your farm, wagon or turn of the century advertising collection. I can promise you, you will not come across another authentic Birdsell sign anytime soon and definitely not in as good of condition as this.
