It is believed to have never been displayed. This is a fabric advertising pennant set/banner type sign from an old JD dealership. It is about 30 feet long. Each pennant is linked by rope as shown in photos. The sign panel features the old four legged deer logo. The sign panel measures about 18 x 24 inches. Theres a metal s hook on each side of the sign portion. This has been in dry storage and shows no mold or mildew. This item will be extremely well packaged and fully insured because its a treasure. Please read the full description for all details. Sign measures 18 1/8 tall and 18 3/8 wide. This is the only such sign Ive personally seen. Take close note of the wording used: lawn & garden tractors. There are similar signs to this one out there but very very few have the word tractors. The common ones and reproductions all say tractor. This sign is extremely rare and there were probably very few made. This sign will be fully insured and packed carefully, including being padded, then fully enclosed in plastic bags, and sandwiched between 1/4 closed-cell foam boards for extra shock protection. This is a wooden sign from an old JD dealership. I have made no attempt to clean, repaint, restore, or repair it in any way. Please note that in the photos you can see where there is a steel eye threaded into the sign. The opposite side of the sign has a hole where the other eye probably was. This sign is not new and shows some edge wear, small nicks, dirt, and dust as you can see in the photos. Im not sure how old this item is. Other items found with this were dated in the 1940s and 50s. The presence of the four-legged deer logo should indicate that this item is from before 1960. This item will be extremely well packaged and fully insured because its a treasure. I have had the fortune of having several of these banner sets to offer for sale over the last month or so, and this is the last one. This is a new old stock advertising banner from an old JD dealership. Each sign is linked by white fabric ribbon as shown in photos. This banner was never displayed nor removed from the box before now. Since the tape seals were already broken, I decided to very carefully open it to show you. Had the seals been intact, I would have left them. Please note that in the third photo you can see where some clear packing tape is in contact with one of the signs inside the package. I have not attempted to remove it so the sign wouldnt get damaged any more. You can see that a small amount of the tape already did come off of the sign. Im not sure how old this item is. Other items found with this were dated in the 1940s and 50s. The presence of the Van Brunt Drill sign and four-legged deer should indicate that this item is from before 1960. The largest signs in here (showing the four-legged deer logo) measure about 2×2 feet. The smaller ones are different sizes but generally about 12×12 inches. The box that this item is in has some of of the original tape seal from Chicago Show Printing Company. The packing tape and signs feel somewhat dried out and brittle. Some signs have very faint stains from spending decades pressed up against each other those stains would probably not be seen from ten feet away. These were stored in a dry location so theres very little chance of water damage and I dont think thats what the stains are. Some signs and white fabric ties show minor edge wear. As you can see, the mailing label on this item has a John Deere Plow Co address of Syracuse, NY, with no ZIP code, so I know it predates 1963 when ZIP codes came into use. These were stored in a dry location so theres very little chance of water damage and I dont think thats what the stains are. The rear of the box shows a hole and minor stain as photos show. My guess is that a long time ago there was some oily substance on the box. It doesnt appear to be water, rather something thick that couldnt easily penetrate the cardboard. If you follow the photos, you see the only stains near that hole are minor stains one on the John Deere Quality Farm Equipment sign. I have the sign positioned near the hole so you can tell. The same sign also has a tiny hole in it, about 3/16 in diameter look near the letter N in the word equipment. This item will be extremely well packaged and fully insured because its a treasure.
