BASKET with REMOVABLE LID. The basket is made of maple strips with John Deere green and yellow accent weaving. Basket Measures Approximately 7.25″ tall x 8.25″ wide & 13 long. Basket is signed on bottom with the basket makers initials & dated. The inside of the lid is also signed with basket makers initials & dated. Comes from smoke free home. John Deere baskets were originally made by the Carnation Basket Company and the Bradford Basket Company – now both defunct. The Carnation Basket Company was founded by people who used to work for the Longaberger Basket Company. Notice, the similarities are uncanny. If you put this basket next to a Longaberger, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference. The same maple weaving and small tacks are used. The process is virtually the same!
